Quick Update

Hello, everyone :)
I'm sorry for not posting lately. I have been so busy moving and sorting out the old flat and the new house, I just haven't found time.
Another problem is that we don't have Internet in the new house just yet...waiting for the router to arrive, which means no posts on the blog as well.
What about this post you say?
I'm writing this from my phone :) just so guys would know I have not forgotten about my bloggy blog :)
hopefully tomorrow WiFi will be sorted and I will start posting again :) maybe a post about the new house?! It still needs work and furniture but it's  getting there.
stay tuned

Throwback Thursday

Hello, Everyone. It's been pretty hectic around here with all the packing and sorting out the move...what a disaster...enough to make me a little bit crazy and a lot of angry.
I did manage to go over to my friends place last Saturday though for some nice wine and chat and steal this picture off her...and by steal I mean take a photo of it with my phone :D

This picture is taken in Los Angeles in Venice Beach. I was so tanned. We were so lucky with the weather pretty much the whole trip....apart from a few terrential downpoors :D

Anyway :)
Stay tuned

Valentines Day Gift Guide

Hello, Everyone :)
Valentines Day is here...yes I know it's only January, but there is nothing to celebrate in January :D So I'm thinking ahead. I'll be honest with you guys, I have never actually celebrated Valentines Day as a romantic holiday. In Estonia it's also known as Friends Day, which I think it's quite cute :) I'll celebrate that instead. But for all you romantic lovebirds here is a list of things I would be quite happy to receive on Valentines Day morning :) I need to prepare myself for not even getting a card though :D because that's just my life...whooop whooop (yes that is sarcasm :D)
These are just presents for women, because I'm quite bad at giving guys presents and in no position to give advice on the matter to anyone else :D

1. Nice flowers, chocolate and a card
It's classic and I think it just does the trick. It was just Christmas, people are still trying to get their finances together so why spend more money. But if you do have money to spend then please continue reading :D

2.Jewellery Box
Only because I really need one :D But how cute is this. There might not be anything in there, but why make it a tradition and get some nice things at future holidays/celebrations.
I love this Stackers set. You can add boxes to it, and get a smaller one instead. They have beautiful color co-ordinations, but I love this beige one with a dark purple insert, as the jewellery will look really nice with the dark background :)

3.Charm Bracelet
Another gift that can keep on giving :) I absolutely love giving Charm bracelets as presents for the dearest of friends, because there can never be too many charms, and this saves me from thinking what to get for that next birthday/Christmas :D For some reason though, I actually don't have one :D So this Valentines Day would be awsome to actually get one as well...hint...hint :D
I don't really like the Pandora bracelets though....no hate. I really like a simple gold chain and pendant charms of all kinds of sparkle :D I love this birth stone gold plated charmed bracelet, and it's only 20 pounds from Etsy:) And it can hold all the classic clip charms :)

To be honest any kind of jewellery is always a sure hit with any woman...I'm sure, unless you are a tomboy type and would like a shovel instead haha :D

4. Anything from Victorias Secret :) I love underwear. I must admit I have a fare share already, but I think you can never have too many sets of nice lingerie :)
They've got a Valentines Day collection out, which makes it even easier for guys to pick out the right thing :) And they just opened up shop in Birmingham :)

And that is it. My mind is blank now. I honestly don't think I would like anything else :D Maybe a nice DSLR camera :D hahaha

Hope you enjoyed the post and got an idea to what to ask for :D
Stay tuned

Oscars 5 Month Update

Hello, Everyone :) 5 months have passed since we had our little Oscar. It's been such an emotional whirlwind from start to this point. There have been tears and laughter...getting a bit too emotional here....I shall just get right to the point :D We didn't get a cake this month, only because it was a eally hectic day, as we were getting the keys for the new house.

This is our little messer on his 5 month birthday night :)

For this post I will not do the whole routine update because it's still pretty much the same as last month. The only thing is that he is starting to sleep for longer stretches now. Fingers crossed it's not just a phase and he'll go back to waking 2 times a night. To be honest he still wakes 2 times a night, but the difference is that the first time is around 12am and I'm still awake for this one. The only way this is possible though, is that now I have a morning nap with Oscar. He wakes up for about an hour and a half around 7 am and then at 8.30 he goes for a small 30-60 minute nap,
That little extra sleep just makes such a difference to my day. I'm just more alert and it's just that much easier to deal with the little daily tantrums, that happen to even the best babies :)

The biggest thing that has happened since last month is starting with solids :) I have given him sweet potato, banana and mushy pees. He has also had Hipp organic puree pouches. Only small amounts of these, but he is really getting the hang of eating and trying new flavours and he really loves it which is great to see :)
He decided that spoons and plates are just too 2014 for him :D
We got the Mamas&Papas little floor chair for him for now as we don't have a dining table (it serves another purpose in this flat and we haven't found one for the new house yet) and it's just perfect for him.

Still is size 3 diapers, but getting a bigger size definitely with the next nappy order :D He is completely grown out of his up to 3 month old clothes (this shouldn't be a surprise really :D), but the thing is that 3-6 month old clothes are exactly perfect fit for him at the moment and he is actually much more comfortable in 6-9 month size. He is not big at all, he is definitely at the right weight, but he is just really long. Then again what did I expect with D being 6ft :D

He is definitely more active and more alert. He also babbels and blows spit bubbles a lot :) And is just such a great little baby :)
The one weird thing he has developed is that he likes to sleep with a muslin cloth on his face when he sleeps on his back, or nussled against it when he sleeps on his side.
And that is pretty much it. It has been a really long month if I'm honest with you guys, because there are just so many things to look forward to next month. IT just seems LOOOOONG :D

Hope you enjoyed the post

5 Months Postpartum

Hello, Everyone :) I think it's about time I did my postpartum update as I haven't done one in a very long time. I'll go over everything that I missed in the past few months as well. There isn't that much though. I have kind of mentioned my progress at Oscars monthly updates, so if I mention something I've already mentioned, then I'm sorry. But I guess it's better to talk about something twice than forget about it altogether :D I will warn you though, that unless you are interested in this kind of information or you are just curious, going through it yourself...it is an honest depiction of things, so be aware of that :)

This is me almost 5 months postpartum :)

The jeans I'm wearing are a size w27 and they are Miss Sixty. The grey sweater is just a basic from H&M

I think the one thing most women are most worried about after birth is how to lose the weight. I gained 12 kg/26.4 lbs during my pregnancy and now I have lost 14 kg/30.8 lbs. I didn't do anything special to lose the weight, so I might be lucky or it might just be that easy. I must admit, I am trying to eat in moderation and I am making sure that my portion sizes are not too big. But I haven't given up on having sugary snacks or greasy food (occasional pizza and take away :D). I also think that I am probably in better shape than I was before getting pregnant and it's all thanks to the little chub chub Oscar :D He is a little attention seeker and likes to be carried around and bounced and swished through the air. This means I am getting a good daily workout just by taking care of him and making sure he is happy :) Also I think I have my age on my side, being still in my 20s and all that :)

My waist is about 4 cm wider than before pregnancy, even though the weight is lower. And My abs are not really where they use to be :D Can a baby move your muscles around :D ??? It's probably not as crazy of a thought as I think it is.

I think I have also fully recovered now, ok I was pretty much back to normal at my 3 months postpartum mark. I do have to mention a part of post birth that I'm not the biggest fan of. And it's the leaking bladder :D I will be the first one to admit I never really took doing the kegel exercises seriously and I will be the first one to admit I should have. It's nothing uncontrollable, I mean you won't be able to tell, but I do have to use liners every day, just in case. I'm sure it will pass in time, but if you are pregnant and are probably tired of hearing everyone telling you to them...DO THEM :D I don't know if it helps, but it definitely can't hurt. I'm sorry if I've been a bit too open about the subject, but I'm thinking, better be honest, I'm sure I'm not the only one with the problem.

Another annoying thing that has happened, is losing my hair. I think it's because the lovely pregnancy hormones have now worn off :( And I find my hair everywhere...EVERYWHERE. So that is why I need to get a haircut...sooner rather than later. This also goes for my nails...I mean they are not falling off :D but they are less strong than they were during the pregnancy. So to avoid it getting any worse I am actually taking antenatal vitamins :D I had some left over, so I'll finish them and then continue with the breastfeeding vitamins instead, even though I'm not breastfeeding anymore.

Breastfeeding takes me to another topic, and it's boobs. It started out extremely painful to feed Oscar and at day 5 it was so horrible I made D get me a breastpump, just so I can get a rest. And from then on I pumped for about 2 weeks only breastfeeding him once or twice a day and then started breastfeeding more often with the help of nipple guards, which I managed to wean off eventually. At 3 months mark Oscar decided it is much too hard to breastfeed and much easier to feed from a bottle so I had to stop. I did keep trying for a few days with no luck and then I just stopped. I also thought about pumping for his feeds but in the end I decided that it's just too time consuming.

I also have pretty bad back pain, but I'm thinking that it's more because of lifting Oscar all the time, rather than side effects from the epidural.

Enough of the shitness though. Yes I don't think it's a real word either, but the other word I thought of was boo boos :D so...

I think I did mention it before that I stopped taking the contraception pill, because the one subscribed to be made me a complete bitch :D I mean my hormones were all over the place and it also made me bleed constantly, so it completely threw off my period. I haven't gotten another subscription for a different pill for now, but it is something I'll do once we move to the new house and I've got a new GP. I have a tiny hatred towards my current medical centre...it's really far and usually the waiting room is filled with strange people :D

All in all I feel pretty great in myself, and even though it does take a long time to recover from birth, it's absolutely worth every twinge and pain. And my god there was a lot of pain :D

Now I'm writing this post I have probably forgotten a few important things I wanted to mention :S I need to remember to make a note to make notes :D

Hope you enjoyed the post or at least found it a bit informative as to what to expect after birth :)

Throwback Thursday

...to when we were young and stupid :D

This photo is taken about 4 years ago. And now I have a baby and the lovely girl next to me is pregnant and about to pop...a baby out...not like a balloon :D
I actually remember this day so well for some reason. We had a lovely time at the park with Marias dog Sascha and then lunch at the local pub and then for some reason we ended up in the place we work for some more drinks :) Why we are wearing sunglasses in the dark...I don't know.
What a difference 4 years make....the one thing that hasn't changed though is that we are still very good friends :)
You never know if friends will still be friends after a few years and I'm glad this little girly still is :)

Hope you enjoyed this little post
Stay tuned :)

Crystal Smile Whitening Strips

Good Evening, Everyone :) I purchased these whitening strips the other day in hopes that the damage my excessive coffee drinking has done to my brilliant whites will be vanished in a matter of minutes. The reviews for these were really good, and they are also peroxide free which means that they are less likely to cause any sensitivity. I picked these instead of the Crest 3d whitening strips because even though the results are probably better, the Crest ones are more likely to damage your teeth plus they are kind of illegal in EU and UK :D

BUT here are my results :) This is just after 1 day :) And I think the results are petty good. You can do a course over 14 days using the strips just once a day or over the course of 7 days using them twice daily. I'm doing the 7 day course.
The pictures are completely unedited, but taken at a different time of the day and I'm wearing a bit of make up on the top picture.

The one thing I do say is after the first time, my teeth looked a bit uneven, but then the second time evened them out.
My opinion is though, that they are definitely worth trying. I think for the 12 pounds I spent on the 28 strips I got my moneys worth and then some. So if your teeth need whitening, I definitely recommend these.

Hope you enjoyed the post
Stay tuned :)

My Nail Polish Collection

Good Morning, Everyone!

I know I said I won't be doing any New Year resolutions, but I need to promise myself not to buy any more darn nail varnishes...as I have about a million of them already. The funny?! part of it is, that I actually rarely have time to do my nails these days anyway :D And when I do then I tend to go for the basics and colours that won't show that much when they chip.
Having a baby is really awesome, but finding time to do your nails and then actually have the time to let them dry for efficient time...pretty much impossibe.
Anyway...I thought I'll share my excessive nail varnish collection with you guys. And I say excessive, compared to like these crazy beauty blogger/vloggers and professionals, my collection is TINY. But for a normal person I do believe I have quite a few :)

I keep them in a French Connection gift set box, which I realise is not big enough for all of them, but I make do with what I've got :D I also keep the files and clippers in there unless I've dragged them around the flat in hopes I will have time to do my nails :D

I have to admit, when it comes to colour and the intensity of the colour you actually get from just one coat of polish, hands down I always go for Revlon. And I really like the bottles.

Barry M is just a nightmare, and to get anything close to the colour in the pot you have to apply like 7 coats. I still have quite a few of them though :D they are so cheap I can't help myself (3.99 if I'm not mistaken)
The recent addition to the nail polish collection. I got all of these Ciate polishes and glitter for 10 pounds when I went to the Clothes Show Live in Birmingham. I don't think I will ever use the yellow caviar set though :S ever...it's yellow...weird :D they were part of a gift bag. The pastel colors are matte, which I think is quite cool.

When it comes to cheap nail varnishes, I don't think you can beat h&m ones :) I think they are awsome :) I don't have that many though.

I have the classic reds and dark reds :)

I also have a few random ones from L'oreal and No7 and Rimmel
And then I have all these glittery ones and the artisty ones you can use to do stuff I don't have time to do :D Maybe one day :D

But like with Makeup I do think Revlon is the one. I just love every single product from Revlon I think...obsessed maybe. Very good value for money :)

Hope you enjoyed the post :)

2014

Good Afternoon, Everyone :)
What a year 2014 was. For most of 2014 I was pregnant and then in August I had my baby boy :) Now I can't imagine my life without him. He is the reason why I am sleep deprived, tired, loopy and deliriously happy most of the time and I wouldn't have it any other way :D
I also started this blog in May...and I will continue to write about my days and doings...I just don't see any other way  any more:)
I've never been the one to look back on the year gone and think what I regret and then come up with several new year resolutions. And I definitely won't be starting it now, mainly because I don't regret anything from last year. In all fairness, it was the best year of my life so far. And knowing what new adventures we have coming this year I just know I will have no regretting to do in the end of 2015 as well.
We will be moving to our new house and will try to make it our home. That house will be the one where Oscar will take his first steps, speak his first words and probably have his first real tantrum...I can't wait.
Hope you all are as excited about the coming year as I am, and don't waste time on resolutions. Use that time to make memories you will cherish for ever. Travel if you life to travel, exercise if you enjoy working out, eat good food and spend time with your friend and family. Because in the end, what will matter, are the memories worth remembering :)

Happy New Year, Everyone.
And as always...Stay tuned :o)
