Revlon Photoready New Product Review

Hello, Everyone :)

I'll start off by saying these product are not completely new to the range but they are new and improved. So basically the lovely people in Revlon, have taken a good and loved product and made it even better and more lovable. (links below) Or have they?

I'll start with the primer. I find that even though it's meant to be anti shine, it actually makes my skin more shiny and I also found that it just left a greasy finish rather than that smooth surface most other primers I have tried. I was actually only impressed with the sponge it came with. It reminds me of the Beautyblender so I might start using it to apply foundation.
This primer costs 6.99 at the moment in Boots. Because it's 3 pounds off. They also have an offer 3 for 2 across all Revlon products. I have to admit though, that if you are looking for an affordable primer...don't get it. Or maybe get it, because it is quite cheap at the moment and try it out yourself. I will honestly say I will be putting it at the bottom of my drawer and will probably never use it again.

Revlon Photoready Airbrush Effect foundation. 9.99 which includes the 3 pound off discount for new products. I got the shade 001 Ivory. The one good thing I found about this is that it completely matched my skintone...I'm a bit of a vampire lately :D But it streaks and I'm not quite sure if it was because of the greasy primer or because of what it is itself, but it does not last. I can definitely not apply it with my buffer brush, so beautyblender all the way with this one. The other good thing is that it looks pretty good with a flash (the Estee Lauder double wear looks really bad with a flash) and it's quite buildable. So if you are looking for a foundation for some good pictures, then this will be perfect. But don't expect it to last with the primer. And I definitely need to set it with a powder, which I would do anyway to prevent creasing.

All in all I was pretty disappointed with these 2 products and it makes me sad. If you have been following me for a while you will know Revlon is my favourite drugstore brand, and I was really exited to try these out and rave about them to you guys....that didn't happen :D
On a bit of a more positive note. It was 3 for 2 on the Revlon products so I picked up a nice lipstain. I will do a post about it tomorrow alongside with my Valentines Day outfit (don't expect fireworks, we are staying home :D) and make up :)

Stay tuned, you guys :)

Berry Lips

Good Evening, Everyone!

Hope you have had a great time. Like I mentioned in one of my previous post, we have been busy looking for a house...and we finally found one :) I can't wait to move in next year and start making it our home.
But this post is about the Christmas lipstick.
It features my old favourite Bourjois Rouge Edition lipstick in colour 18 Violine strass, but I'm adding a bit of gloss just to give it some extra festive feeling.
I do my lipstick in a very strange way...don't get me wrong, I'm still applying it on my lips, but I have my old tried and tested method of doing it, and I'm going to share it with you.
I think Christmas is the time to give a darker lip a try if you're usually into your nudes and pinks.

These are the products I'm using. I'll link them below. I am not sure if I can find the Bourjois one though, as I bought it about a year ago, and I'm not sure if it was part of a limited edition collection...check below if I have found it.

I start by applying a bit of concealer all over my lip. I used the second colour from the top row, and my palette is in colour Light and then set it with a bit of powder. I'm sorry if I look evil :D more like Grinch than Christmas joy and happiness person :S...

I then apply the lipstick (Bourjois) all over my lip using the RealTechniques brush. I just think that a lipstick lasts longer and then if you are out and about, all you need to to is add a bit of gloss, if the whole look starts fading. Atleast you have got the outlines there for the gloss to go into, and hopefully you don't end up looking like The Joker. I must admit, that I am terrible at applying dark lipstick on the go and I will need a mirror to do any top ups :D
I am yet to try the long lasting lipsticks....maybe I'll find a few to try out in a little while :) Any recommendations?
As you can see due to the concealer I applied before the colour is not as dark as it would be on a bare lip.

And then using the same brush I apply a bit of the Revlon Lip Butter all over my lips :)

I always finish off a dark lipstick with applying a light concealer all around the outline. I just think it makes the whole look cleaner and more refined...and I've seen other people do that as well.
And VOILA a Christmassy lipstick look? is ready :)

Yes...this picture just happened :D
All the products can be found in Boots except the Makeup Revolution Palette. They only sell this product in Superdrug :)

Hope you enjoyed the post :)
Stay tuned

November Favourites

Good Morning, Everyone :)
It's December....the month of Christmas. I'm too excited :D But this post is not about December nor is it about Christmas, it's about my November Favorites :)
A lot of bloggers do beauty favorites, but mine will include food, fashion and baby things as well :) Escpecially because I haven't really gotten anything new in the beauty department :D

First it's Food.
Last month it was healthy sea bass if I remember correctly, but as the weather gets colder and the days get shorter...the food gets stodgier :D
So for November our favourite food was Ribs. We had the tesco pork ribs with a bbq glaze every week :D Eat them with some mash or sweet potato fries...delicious :D
This week it was Morrissons though as D did a weekly/monthly food shop from there this time :) and it's sweet chilli rather than bbq

The baby favourites of the month are these Burts Bees poducts. We got the calming cream for his sensitive baby skin and the shampoo/body was that I use in a bath :)
These products are so good and they smell even better...like honey (burts bees you know :D) They are a bit on the pricey side when it comes to cost...I paid 16 pounds for the 2. But you can wait for some offers to come along to try them for a bit cheaper because as babies go, sometimes what works for one doesn't neccessarily work for the other :)
I actually got a small gift pack for 8 pounds (7 pounds cheaper than usual) when the Boots baby event was on to try them before I bought the big sizes. I still have the baby oil and the diaper ointment left from the set even though they were tiny sizes :)

My favourite beauty products for November are actually scents.
First it's the inexpensive French Connection body spray. It came in a set that my friend got me for my birthday and it's just such a nice and sweet vanilla scent to spray on on those casual days :) I sometimes spray it in the room to make the room smell nice as well :D

And the second one was a Christmas present from my mom and sister ( we did presents early this year)
YSL Black Opium fragrance....I absolutely like it a lot, I might even say I love it a bit :D The smell is just so me and I'm quite surprised I've found a scent I think I like more than Euphoria by Calvin Klein (my usual fragrance that I've been using for a couple of years)
The other thing I like about the present was that the bottle is a nice 30ml plus there was a handbag sized 10ml spray of it as well in the gift set, which will come handy with a small clutch bag or even just a hand bag, as big bottles of perfume can be heavy.

Another favourite of mine was the good Revlon colorburst lip butter in 010 Raspberry Pie. It's just a really nice purple coulor just like winter berries :) I like a darker lip for winter time :) These lip butters are super inexpensive as well( link here )Plus at the moment, you get a free Colorburst balm for fee when you spend 10 pounds on Revlon in Boots :)

And the last of the November favourites is this hat :D Being a busy mama and all I wear my hair in a pony tail most of the days, and sometimes when I have a shower when O is already asleep I don't get a chance to blowdry it which means it looks like a curly mess rather than hair so having a hat that looks good and is also warm when I have to dash out without getting a chance to do anything with my hair before hand is great :)
I got this from h&m and I think it was about 8 pounds :)

Hope you enjoyed my November Favourites post

Daily Makeup Routine

I'm going to start the post by saying, I don't think there is any need to wear make up every day, specially when all you do is stay at home. But even going out...if you don't want to wear make up then I think you have every right not to. It's all about feeling confident in yourself.
I don't wear makeup daily, I don't think I need to. I do have a few blemishes and a bit of uneven skintone, I've got redness and my skin is not as tight anymore as it use to be, but it's fine...I'm ok with that.
But sometimes there are these days, when you maybe just want a little pick me up, or maybe you don't feel as confident. I mean we all have these days, and those are the days when I have a simple makeup routine.
I do like playing around with different products and colour, but for my daily makeup I have my old favorites :)

The before and after pictures are completely unedited, just so you can get a clear view of the changes :)
They are also pretty bad quality :D ever so sorry, I am in search for a good compact camera, so hopefully soon enough I would be able to have better quality photos :) Also it's really rainy today and it got really dark, which is why the colours are different...I had to turn the light on

These are all the products  and brushes I used

I start off by applying the  Rimmel London Stay Matte liquid mousse foundation in colour 100 Ivory.
I love how it just evens out and makes my skin look really smooth. And I use the real techniques stippling brush to apply it.

Then I use the Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer. This only costs 4 pounds, but I think it's amazing. The colour is really nice and intense. And the name of the colour is Ready To Go.
I apply it with a big blush brush.

Then i add a bit of highlighter at the top of my cheekbones, just under the eyes. And I use an angled blush brush. This highlighter is a new buy from Revlon in the clour 020 Rose Glow

The next thing I do is my brows, because my hair is actually light brown ( I die my hair dark) my eyebrows don't really match, so I colour them in using the Collection Work the Colour Eyebrow kit. I use the middle colour and an angles eyebrow brush. The

One of the last things I do is my eyeshadow. I use the Maybelline colour Tattoo cream eyeshadow in colour 35 - On and on Bronze as a base and then use the Revlon Photoready eyeshadow set in 505 Impressionist on top.
I use the primer (the bottom right colour) all over my lid on top of the color tattoo shadow, and then with a soft blending brush add the medium brown colour in the creases of the eyes. I then use an angled shadow brush to add the darkest colour in the outer corner of my eyes and blend it out. Finish it off with mascara. Today I used the Estee lauder Sumptuous Extreme mascara (picture above)

And I use the Revlon Colourburst Lip Butter in the 095 Creme Brulee shade :) I really love these lip butters, the colours are so pretty and they do make your lips really soft. I love this nude one as a daily lippy and I keep it with me for a top up when I need one :)

Hope you guys enjoyed the post :)
Also If you have a post request or a product you would want me to try out for you, leave a comment below  :)

Have a happy rainy weekend everyone :)
