23 Weeks

SO I'm a day late with this post, but I got back from work yesterday and just went to sleep, as I stayed out way too late on Saturday and had to be up very early Sunday. But here it is now.
Again I have to apologize for the photos...I'm a big fan of toilet photos, mostly because I have no friends and second of all I really don't like people taking photos of me. First one I took when I went out, and you can't really see the belly at all. Could have gone a whole night without people knowing I'm pregnant if it wasn't for my friends, who keep touching my belly. I have nothing against people touching me, I mean I work in a busy bar, you are bound to get caught in between people, but I'm in that awkward phase at the moment where I don't really have a bump per se, unless I've just had a big meal like on the second picture below :D , so it's just a bit strange. But I'll let them off.

So on the first picture I'm wearing a Forever21 dress and cardigan and New Look jeans. They are not maternity, but made out of really soft material so they are still ok for me to wear. I tucked in the front of the dress so I could wear it as a shirt. The shoes are wedges from Select, they are exact fit and really comfortable but since I had worked for 10 hours that day, my feet were slightly swollen and I swear it took me like 30 minutes to get them on :D On the second picture everything I wear is the same, except I'm just wearing a tank top. I'm noticing that shorter tops keep raising up, so I need to go buy some longer ones. And I got a bit too excited with my new photo editing app, so sorry about the weird effects :D

How far along : 23 weeks
  Gender : Boy
Total weight gain : I Think It's about 11 pounds, I haven't had a chance to weight myself this week, and by ''haven't had a chance'' I mean I've been eating so badly I haven't had the guts to get on the scale :D
Cravings : Still like Ice cream, but nothing weird. I'm pretty good at taking my vitamins, and they say weird not food related cravings are usually a deficiency in some kind of vitamin in your body, so there's a reason for those ones missing. But I don't know why I'm not getting food related cravings. Maybe next week :)
Stretch marks : Still none, wouldn't have thought they appear in just a week anyway.
Movement : I feel him moving every day now, I mostly notice once I'm in bed and lying down. But it's really crazy weird, yesterday he had a little dance session while I was trying to go to sleep. He was at it for atleast half an hour :). And you can feel the kicks from the outside now.
Thoughts : I get up at night to go to the toilet pretty much every night, which is getting a bit annoying, but It could be worse, I could be getting up a few times a night and have really bad undereye bags, and then I would've defo bought the YSL touche eclate highlighter the lady at the stand was trying to sell to me today, when I was getting a friend her birthday present :D. But luckily I still get enough sleep, so managed to say no to that one. I need to start reading what I write, because I don't think I write fast enough for my thoughts, so I think I am missing out on some words :D
All in all it's been a good week. Can't wait to go back home though. I'm flying out on the 28th and will be 25 weeks then. I'm sure it will be a whole different flying experience this time.

Wardrobe essentials

So todays post was meant to be a 23 week update, but as I am heading out later, I'll take the photo, once I'm dressed up and have a bit of make up on, so the post will be up tomorrow.
Today is the wardrobe essentials post though. There are just a few things a girl just can't live without. I've picked a few favorites/examples from www.theoutnet.com and later on in the week I'll do a another post of my wardrobe equivalents, which are clearly high street and more affordable :)
The Outnet is a great site for past and current season designer clothes and accessories for usually half the price :)

I've chosen pretty basic colors, as those are the colors I usually go for. I like to pump up my outfits with funky shoes/bags/accessories rather than having the clothes be the statement piece. But then again once and a while you need that vava voom dress, wich needs little or no accessorising. But those pieces are part of another post :)

For my wardrobe essentials I pick pieces I can mix and match with eachother and usually variate from day to night by adding a few accessories and a bit more make up :)

These are my picks.

First Picture :

Black shoes by Brian Atwood £280
Purple platform heels by Charlotte Olympia £678
Black Dress by Donna Karan £547.78
Simple black blazer by Donna Karan £354
Sunglasses Marc by Marc Jacobs £45
Leopard print flats by Oscar de la Renta £285
White dressy blouse by Oscar de la Renta £528.5
A black simple shoulder bag by Tory Burch £225.5

Second Picture:

Blue jeans by 7 for All  Mankind £90
Statement necklace by Roberto Cavalli £487.5
Simple longer cardigan by Theory £112.5
Shirt dress By See by Chloe £192.5
Clutch bag by Stella Mccartney £225.5
Laid back white shirt by T By Alexander Wang £141

Obviously these items are way too pricey for me apart from a few exclusions. But it's always nice to dream :D I must say my favorite outfit on most days is jeans and a white t-shirt or a shirt. For daytime I can wear a cardigan with the outfit, with some printed flats and a shoulder bag and for the evening I can add a statement neclace some heels and a blazer.
I also think a black blazer is sooo versatile as I can wear it on a night out or dress it down with some simple tennis shoes or flats during daytime. Basically these are all the items I have in my wardrobe and couldn't live without (only mine are mostly from the high street and cost me a lot less pounds than these beutiful things on the pictures)

But why not spend a little less on the basics and splurge on a great statement piece that will add something special to any outfit :)

What are the things that you girls can't live without?

22 Week Bump Update

These pictures are pretty bad. The only full size mirror is in the bathroom and doesn't give much space, as you can see. I've had to do the pictures myself as well and to be honest I look more bloated than pregnant :D I'm aslo sorry about the outfit :D I took a shower after work and really just felt like getting into something comfortable. Wearing a plain tank top from h&m and the tracksuit bottoms are from Old Navy. I got them 2 years ago so they have gone so nice and soft now from all the washing :D and obviously stretchy.

How far along : 22 weeks
  Gender : Boy
Total weight gain : 9,5/10 pounds. I've haven't been able to be too consistent and healthy with my meals, as I've been doing crazy shifts at work, and by crazy I mean 8-10 hours straight, with not really any chance to sit down. The food there is so unhealthy as well and i've been really bad at making my packed lunches as I tend to eat them right away after getting to work :D so that is probably why i've gained a whole 2 pounds in the past 2 weeks. All for a good cause though, now just have to consentrate on the benefits of food rather than the calories
Cravings : Still nothing. I have noticed that I really don't tolerate feta cheese anymore, and it use to be my favorite in salads. Yes feta cheese is fine, as long as it's made with pasteurised milk. This goes to any soft cheese that us pregnant ladies shouldn't be eating. As long as it's pasteurised it is fine.
Stretch marks : No stretch marks, and I must say, I am not very great at moisturising every day. I'm lazy and I'm busy, so I try to get a good body wash that doesn't leave my skin dry. If it does feel a bit rougher than usual I use garnier shea butter body cream, which is meant to last for 7 days and even after wash. So it works for me and my busy schedule.
Movement : A lot yesterday. I was really excited myself as I got to go to tesco and do a food shop :D I love looking at new stuff and think of receipes to cook
Thoughts : It's really hard to find a comfortable position to sleep. And when I do sleep, I wake up a lot and have really strange dreams. I only have 4 months left (My due date is 9th of August and not all the months have 4 weeks)and we still haven't bought a single item. I wonder if we can actually get away with not spending too much money on the little guy at the beginning. All in all Im finding myself happier and happier every day. It's all very exciting. I washed about 7 pairs of my jeans yesterday from ages ago and today as I was folding them to put them away I realised I won't be able to comfortably wear them for a long time :D
